🌿 1 Hour Job: The Garden Lid of Destiny

Ah, spring. Birds chirping, flowers blooming, and me—armed with a roll of green plastic fence and a dream.

The mission? Build a small fence around a gardening box. Simple, right? Except the customer had unknowingly purchased parts for two completely different fence systems: one for a permanent installation, and one for a removable setup. It was like being handed IKEA parts for a bookshelf and a trampoline and being told, “Make it work.”

So I did what any creative professional would do: I improvised.

I ventured into the forest (okay, the edge of the yard) and cut a few sturdy branches. I tied them together with hemp string, which I’m pretty sure was originally meant for macramé plant hangers. I stretched the green plastic fence like I was wrapping a giant sushi roll. And then—inspired by divine gardening forces—I created a lid. Yes, a lid. A 1m x 1m masterpiece that could be lifted off like the crown jewel of compost protection.
